Pierced King
It was soon after his father died in the winter, the young prince received the crown. Our new king promised us an era of reparations. He walked the streets to meet his subjects, fed the families of murdered fathers, and clothed children who fought over coins in the cramped alleyways. A family of three were found cowered in the storeroom. The youngest of two siblings screamed and begged for his life, whilst our new king wept. With his greatest efforts, the king prayed for help, making all manner of promises to God, and at night in his bedchamber, calling to other, older gods. |
